Gabby Douglas, Mets Gabby Douglas is on a roll.

After taking home two gold medals at the London Olympics, the 16-year-old gymnast threw the ceremonial first pitch prior to the Mets’ game against the Rockies Thursday at Citi Field in The big apple, flashing her famous smile while she was in internet marketing.

“I’m a bit more nervous,” Douglas said ahead of the big pitch. “Everyone just informs me to chuck the ball ball hard, so I will throw that it is hard.”

Douglas, who was simply bombarded with fans who wanted to take pictures together with her on the game, also made time and energy to talk with a band of local children at a charity event before the game began.

“I wished to tell my story and where I originated in and my background, because it wasn’t easy,” Douglas said, according to the New York Daily News. “I needed to face a whole lot coming through this journey, lots of sacrifices, difficulties, challenges, and injuries.

“I wanted everyone to understand it is easy for anyone really. I needed to ensure they are know never to stop trying and try to keep fighting, because though times may be tough, the sacrifices do pay off, so just keep pushing towards your dream and simply love it at the same time and revel in it.”

Douglas dished about those particular struggles maturing in a sit-down with Oprah, including what it was prefer to cope with bullies while she trained from her family.

“I felt being bullied and isolated in the group,” Douglas said. “They treated me not that they treated their other teammates.”

“Was it absolutely was feeling of ‘You’re different and we’re gonna have you feeling that way’?” Oprah asked the athlete, known as the Flying Squirrel, following her admission.

“Yes,” Douglas replied.

Following their sit back, the medal-winner and Oprah lightened the serious interview after some beam work.

The duo hopped on the balance beam, with Douglas showing the media mogul how to do a move referred to as scale.
